Digital Storytelling

Digital Storytelling was a class taught by Dr. Kelly Schrum in Fall 2014. It focused on creating a ten-minute digital story on historical research or research in higher education. The assignments for this class included weekly blog posts, leading a class discussion, writing a script and creating a storyboard, and peer reviewing each other’s digital stories. In creating the final digital story, I learned how to use a Canon videocamera, a lighting and audio kit, Photoshop, and Final Cut Pro.

For my digital story, I researched an enslaved midwife on George Washington’s Mount Vernon. To request to see the video, please email me at scolli16@masonlive.gmu.edu.
